Iain Newton.

Iain has 30+ years of experience creating marketing strategies and multi-award-winning campaigns for some of the world’s most iconic companies, including Apple, Nike, Jordan, Product (RED), Target, The New York Times, and ESPN, to name a few.

He was a senior strategist at Kirshenbaum & Bond from 1995 to 1999 before joining Wieden+Kennedy NY as head of strategy in 2000. He left W+K to join Mother London in 2002.

While at Mother, he helped create and launch Product (RED), a partnership with iconic consumer brands to create products and experiences that fund the fight to end AIDS. He worked to foster close relationships, and a successful launch, with partners American Express, Armani, Converse, Motorola, and Gap.

In 2006 he was offered the chance to join Apple as Director of Marketing and Communication Strategy.

Iain worked on every major product launch at Apple from the first iPhone in June 2007 to Apple Watch in 2015. His role on product launches included helping create the most simple and compelling narratives that informed keynote presentations as well as all marketing activities.

His experience at Apple went well beyond marketing and communication, and included working extensively on customer experience design in Apple Retail stores and non-Apple direct stores, such as Best Buy and FNAC. He also led strategy development for many of Apple Retail’s significant store openings in major cities across the globe.

During his time at Apple, Iain learned an invaluable amount about how companies can transform to engage more people and build on their success. Driven by his desire to use this experience to help companies build on their potential, Iain left Apple in 2015 to set up Silent B Inc.

Silent B specializes in helping mission-based companies articulate, and amplify, their brand story in the most effective, engaging and compelling ways. Past and present clients include The New York Times, Dolby Laboratories, On, Cartier, Neko Health, Rutger Bregman’s The School for Moral Ambition and Project Slingshot.
